Mamaya, okay?
Dec

6:00 PM18:00

Mamaya, okay?

mamaya, okay?, meaning later, okay?, in taglish (english + tagalog) is a current and probably never-ending investigation into Parbs’ Filipinx heritage, and a laborious battle in reclaiming the culture that has been mostly absent in her life. Each piece is a result of language learned and history explored, however small that may be, using imagery sourced from a very limited stash of photos taken during her sole trip to the Philippines, as well as photos of her multiracial family in its beginnings. Using printmaking and other tactile processes, Parbs navigates her relationship with herself and others, bringing intimate details to the tangible surface.

*~come through 6-9pm for a hot alcoholic beverage and snacks~*

Makewell Vol. II / Open mic

Pink Salt Art Collective is excited to announce the release of Makewell Vol. II, a collection of dynamic poetry and prose exploring a single question: how does love share the same space as resistance?

We also invite the public to participate in a community open mic and encourage all writers, poets and spoken-word creatives to make their voices heard! Come support local poets, purchase a limited-edition copy of Vol. II, sip some cozy drinks and share a space of healing and energizing.

Makewell Vol. II featured artists and writers:
Vinny Tunzi
Raoul Deal
Kayla Nicole I-Lin Naus
Kailey Pinter
Rosie Brandenburg
Yhazmin Sanders-Sanchez
Liala Amin
Ashley
Casey O'Brien
Rachel Messenger
??????????

Makewell is a bi-annual zine published through Salt Shaker Press that features text-based work from both local and national artists. The mission of Makewell is to provide a platform for artists to share their words with the community. Makewell largely exists as an online publication with a limited physical edition.
