“Con mi cepillo de pintura” – Jordin creates paintings that begin as drawings inspired by past experiences, metaphors, or other human experiences and evolve into ambiguous, poetic paintings.

“With my paint brush“ – Emily creates paintings that operate in almost the exact opposite format, starting with representational imagery, cutting them up, creating gnarly collaged objects from the shreds, and then using the objects as a one to one reference for a painting. 

“Con mi cepillo de pintura / With my paintbrush,” illustrates what it means for these two painters to create objects that utilize the action and result of painting a painting, to speak louder than words, or often less successful than words.
